I have a 8424 sz Yamaha burner drive and a Apple bootable (Matsushita) cdrom drive. ( both scsi). CDs burnt in the Yamaha WILL NOT mount in the cdrom. Also the Yamaha IS NOT bootable.
If you get a Apple bootable cdrom then you will not be so limited to the cdrom driver. jr Tom Prisk10/30/02 4:58 [EMAIL PROTECTED][wrote] > Hi all, > > I've been having a little problem that I'm hoping someone on the list might > have an answer to. > I have a Starmax 5500/200 and an external Yamaha 8-4-24 cd burner (scsii). > I have no trouble burning cd's & reading them through the burner, but the cd > drive in my computer won't recognize a burned cd. > Is it because my drive is simply too old for this new-fangled technology, or > is there some "fix" for this problem? > > I also noticed that in order for my cd rom drive to work after installing a > new system folder, I have to copy my cd rom drive extension from 7.6 Is this > common? > > Thanks for any help you might have. > > Tom > -- StarMax is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> StarMax list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/starmax.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:starmax@;mail.maclaunch.com> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:starmax-off@;mail.maclaunch.com> For digest mode, email: <mailto:starmax-digest@;mail.maclaunch.com> Subscription questions: <mailto:listmom@;lowendmac.com> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/starmax%40mail.maclaunch.com/> --------------------------------------------------------------- >The Think Different Store http://www.ThinkDifferentStore.com ---------------------------------------------------------------
