Tom,
I have the same SM (my cd-rom drive is a Teac) and a Yamaha external
8-8-24.
The CD drive in the SM needs the 7.6 CD driver extension and that FWB
toolkit thing doesn't apply to my particular max,
and the yamaha needs the apple cd/dvd extension.
Hopefully you're not burning disc to disc (assuming it's MUSIC yur
burnin!!) and don't use the SM cd-rom except to play discs on, but if it
won't recognize them, is it because you didn't change the extension
back? Need them both, each for each, don't know if they conflict having
them both turned on, never tried it while using the burner or the
reader. No fix that I know of, you just switch.
