Guys--

I've been having a similar problem this week with my SM3000/180,
JoeCard/260, OS 9.1, 144 RAM, Sonnet ATA66 to a ATA66 Maxtor HD, & VM
set to 145mb. The VM was directed to my boot disk and then to a
different partition (both refreshly defrag'ed and optimized with
DiskWarrior with plenty of contiguous space to operate in) but made no
difference. Once the physical RAM is assigned to open apps., attempting
to launch additional apps results in a dialog box saying basically,
"there is insufficient RAM, do I want to quit the most recently launched app."

Question: why won't the system allow an app to be launched into VM?
