Dunno about a slave connection.  Both my CDRW and HD are set up as masters.

BUT........... my CDRW is not bootable in this configuration, but (I'm about
99% sure) neither is my HD.  I haven't bothered putting an OS on the HD
although I think I tried it once when I first got the HD.  Pretty sure this
non-booting is a feature of the PCI card I have.

This is not a problem for me as I have always been able to boot off my orig
TEAC 16x CD-ROM (SCSI) using Apple's CD-ROM 5.3.1 driver (even though my OS
is 9.1).
