Thanks for the info, JR.

Sometime in the past, all of my 9.1 USB extensions got trashed (no doubt
intentionally on my part while chasing other demons long ago).

I have now replaced the 1.4.1 set of extensions I was using yesterday with
the OS9.1 ones off my CD, and they (not coincidentally) are EXACTLY the
same as you noted above. They're obviously the 1.4.6 set.

Unfortunately, the failure using IE still exists. Curiously tho, I can send
or receive from any ONE of my email accounts successfully. However when I
attempt a Send/Receive All command, IE freezes consistently. How bizarre! I
only have 3 email accounts, but the complexity somehow chokes it. Note that
IE isn't the problem, it's just the best case I've found so far to
demonstrate the failure with regularity.

I feel pretty comfortable with the extension set, so I'm going to look into
the PCI card placements and see if I can get around it that way.

Please note the printer works fine, and I haven't yet had a freeze when
trying to print something.

It's just that some other applications (and the Finder occasionally) are
having a hard time coexisting with [1] the 1.4.6 USB set, AND [2] my current
hardware configuration.

Any further advice/counsel welcome.

Will advise anon........

Regards.......... Kirk
