I wrote to this list a few months ago about my problem. I checked all the
cords to make sure they were loose and I unplugged them all and plugged them
back in. Then I tried installing a new power supply. Then a new battery. I
hit the CUDA button. Still, nothing worked. Anyway, the problem is my
computer restarts almost randomly without warning. Well, it used to restart
randomly. Like I would be in the middle of something and all of a sudden the
screen would go blank and restarts. I also have MacsBug installed and it
doesn't even go into that. But after I replaced the old power supply, the
screen goes blank, but it does not restart. And I can't restart. I can't do
the keyboard restart, go into MacsBug, or even push one of the two buttons
on the front of the computer. I have to unplug it to restart it. This
problem occurs every time I try to burn a CD and also at other times.
However, it is not the CD burner as I have tried another CD burner that
worked fine on my other starmax. It is not the software because it has
happened on another hard drive on this computer. I have a 3000/180 Tower
with a 300 MHz G3 upgrade, a USB card, and a video card. I also have an
ethernet card but problems started before it were even installed. I would
really appreciate some advice. Thanks.
