Guess I missed your earlier post. Does it happen with all extensions off?

Other stuff to try...

First of all, you might try refreshing your HD software drivers.
Might try yanking PCI cards &/or their drivers to see if the prob 
persists.
Might try upgrading or replacing your G3 drivers. Are your cache settings 
in compatible mode?
Might try disconnecting IDE's & boot SCSI.
