Assuming you are using the built-in video of the SM, you will need to 
buy an LCD with a VGA input.   Beyond that, it should work no 
problems.   If you are using a PCI card, check if it has a DVI 
connector on it and if it does, spend the extra for a DVI based LCD. 
This will eliminate issues with resolution and scan rates and the 
loss in quality of converting the signal from Digial to Analog (in 
the computer) then back to Digital in the LCD.

I'd check with a discussion group dedicated to DTP to discuss 
contrast ration and color balancing of LCD's.  I've heard there are 
issues, but don't know the specifics.
