Norman--
I recently tried (and returned) a Samsung 171v, 17" LCD on my
SM3000/180, OS 9.1, JoeCard G3. I loved the small footprint and profile
over the big box of a 17" CRT monitor, but the color was flat and
lifeless, as was the contrast (350:1). But worse was there was no one
position that I could place my eyes that yielded the same color &
contrast from top to bottom. I tested this by dragging a small picture
in Photoshop around the screen and the color/contrast varied dramatically.

No amount of playing with the monitor controls could eliminate this
problem so I returned it. So I've learned to live with the small screen
size of my ViewSonic 15" that has great color and contrast. As a former
and now retired DTP publisher, I would not advise using a LCD monitor if
accurate color is important to you...
