I am thinking of getting an ipod. The literature says computer must have
original firewire and OS 9.2. Does anyone have an ipod working ion their
Starmax? I know that OS 9.2 can be hacked into the SM but what about the
original Firewire issue? I would have to add a firewire card, I have a USB
card and it works great. I do not know if I should get a combo USB/Firewire
card or just a firewire card. All my PCI slots are full but I could pull
the SCSI card and just use the original slower SCSI.
The next problem I have is consolidating itunes. I have itunes 1 and 2 on
the SM and they seem to have different libraries. Then my wife has a
PBG4Ti400 with OSX and itunes 4. Maybe I should move all the music to the
PB which has Firewire but I like listening to music on my SM too. Can I
move all the music to the PB, load it on a ipod and copy it back to the SM?
How do folks manage itenes on multiple Macs?I'm just trying to get my
computers to live together happily but it gets harder with new OSs and ipod
technology.
