Hi,

I've found that I have a couple of probs with STFax 4.0...

1) Since I've been using it, the modem itself has "crashed" a few times,
requiring to be switched off for 30 seconds before it can be used
again. This isn't the main problem as it /could/ be something with
   the modem, etc.....

The problem is that STFax reports that the modem is not responding, a
requester pops up with "OK", which when pressed goes back to the
retry/cancel requester. STFax tries the modem again, and reports it
not responding and so on - it just will not cancel and the only way
you can get out of this cycle is to reboot. IYSWIM.

2) When I've tried to record WAVs other than those supplied, STFax
hangs. When I tried with CyberGaurd and SnoopDos3.0, the whole
computer locked up when it tried reading the WAVs. I never had this
problem with these WAVs and v3.8 - I don't know if STFax uses
datatypes for this, but I'm using the same as I was with 3.8.

Chris will probably want to smack me with a bit of 2x4 timber for saying
this, but I feel that the sound quality of the supplied WAVs is not
that good. When played, they sound very `tinny', even for a WAV and when
you listen to the end result down the phone, it sounds a bit like
they're being played off a cheap answerphone with a knackered tape... :(

Apart from that, v4 is good and well worth it. ;)
