The simple answer is three-fold:
1. We do not know which modems do and do not 'work properly' (as you say)
with STFax, as we cannot afford to buy all the modems in the world (besides,
there are many many modems that cannot be bought in the UK which are, say,
available locally within Portugal, Greece or Poland - as an example).
Besides, STFax sells so few (ie. less than 5 a month, these days) copies
that it hardly even pays for the programmer to even pay for the electricity
to turn on his Amiga! :-/
2. If we said 'this modem works fine with STFax' people would be angry if
STFax still had problems (on their system) and/or could even sue us (LOL),
in theory, if we said 'this works' but the user had problems with it.
3. As we've all said in the past, STFax works fine for some people with
certain modems, but then another person may have problems. There are even
the odd one or two people who reported problems with Pace modems, yet many
many others have absolutely no problems at all.
ie. the 'problems' experienced with STFax may not be all modem related, but
may actually be something to do with their system.
