The MakeCD compatibility list gives detailed information on each system
used to test a CD writer. It also differentiates between units tested by
the authors, units which haven't been tested but use the same
hardware/firmware as those tested and units that have been tested by
third parties and reported to work or not. In the third case, the name
of the person testing is given. That's way you're covered because you
aren't stating that it works, only that A. N. Other reports that it
works.

This would help with them too. If several people report success with a
particular model, anyone else experiencing problems can see that they
should look closer to home for the solution.
