Hi all,

I've been using Storm 2000 (hail) since the day it came out, and I've
finally remembered to subscribe to this list. Anyway. I've had a
couple of issues with Storm that might be worth mentioning:

Now, I've looked through the archive to see if these topics have been
covered already, but the subject titles aren't too helpful in
general. Sorry if this is all a rehash. In any case, here goes:

- HD Installs (Standard Ed.)
I've seen it mentioned that a hard drive installation doesn't
work for FAT drives. This is partly true... it's only a minor bug in
the installation program though. What actually happens is that the
filename (not the path name, mind) gets truncated
('hail-i386-Storm-Linu' - 20 characters). However, one can manually
complete the filename in the dialog box, and the rest works fine.

- Lockups on initial configuration
This has happened three times (I've installed Storm on about 6
computers). After a successful installation, the package
configuration tool runs. It locks on a package, although pressing
Cancel sometimes skips over the current package and keeps going. On
two occasions, however, it locked completely (couldn't even switch to
another terminal).

I guess that's it... kick-ass distro, I must say.

cheers,

-----
