Quick answer:Nope.
Long answer:
apt-cache search kernel-image
for a list of available kernels.
apt-get upgrade will upgrade you to the latest revision of the same
package.
example:
kernel-image-2.2.18 is a diferent package than kernel-image-2.2.17
or kernel-image-2.2.18-ide for that matter.
