Does the kernel you are installing say:
kernel-image-2.2.x-storm
or
kernel-image-2.2.x
If it the latter then you are upgrading a Stormix kernel with a Debian
one. You'll probably find the the Stormix kernel may be superior in
some cases. For example the Storm 2.2.16 range has USB backported to it
as well as some other enhancements. The Debian kernel is as it says,
2.2.x. If you want USB for example then you'll have to run the Debian
2.4 range.
AFAIK the latest storm kernel is 2.2.16-5.
This is why _I_ am confused.
Also, your kernel is probably not something that needs to be upgrade
with every new release. Perhaps for functionality like USB, but since
Stormix has already backported this there is no real issue.
