Hey gang,
I wrote earlier today about my problem with the GDM login screen.
Mircea, I saw that you had this happen once but it resolved itself
after rebooting.
I haven't had such luck.
GDM worked just fine before I used apt-get to install XFree4.0.2 but
now, even though X works just fine, the login screen for GDM won't
work.
I type in root (or whoever) and then the password and it seems to
start up but then skips back to a fresh login screen.
I have no problems logging in using a virtual terminal.
Anyone else have this problem and were you able to fix it?
What a pain!
I like the graphical login screen.
