I am setting up an Intel PII-400MHZ machine to
act as a firewall and purchased the Storm Firewall product. Had installed the
Open Source program via the Internet without a hitch. After a week I screwed up
the install and when I got the Storm Firewall disk reinstalled everything. The
machine does not recognize the NIC cards in it anymore. I am new to Linux, but
have some experience with Unix. My main experience though is Windows (or
WinBlows in the Unix/Linux world.) The NICs are 2 - Realtek 8139 cards that
worked perfectly before. The message I get on boot up is: Can't locate module
device eth0. When I do a dmesg | more, I show nothing for the eth0 or
eth1. They are both listed in the /etc/modules.conf file. Can anyone help me or
direct me to a solution. Daryl S. Ehrenheim |
