Dear John

There was a 25% CO2 version and several in between. Please contact them and
maybe pass the info along. I could not get a price from the website.

I really like the list you have. That is about 1/8th of the price of a
combustion analyser. As most of the math built into the analysers has to be
ignored anyway, you are on the right track.

I managed to find an NDIR CO cell that has two ranges: 0-200 ppm and 0-50,000.
From what I saw today (letting the fire go deep into the dying stage) the
excess air rises rapidly enough to keep the CO below 30,000 at all times no
matter what.

If you run out of CO limit, you probably have a just-ignited or dying fire and
it is not all that a problem for those few minutes to be ignored or estimated.

In the case of trying to prove that a semi-coked fuel produces massive CO
emissions on lighting, leave that to the labs. Good combustion will be covered
by your homemade device.

Regards
Crispin
