Having to scroll horizontally drives me nuts. My theory is that it's from the code samples that are too wide. Pages that don't have code samples don't make you scroll horizontally.
For example, if you go to http://www.stripesframework.org/display/stripes/Sample+Application the biggest offender there is the line <stripes:options-enumeration enum="net.sourceforge.stripes.examples.bugzooky.biz.Priority"/> I'm no CSS guru, but is it possible to specify a fixed width for the code sample divs? Then the divs with long lines would get horizontal scroll bars and the web page wouldn't. This is also part of the reason why for standalone xml tags I perfer the vertical format <stripes:options-enumeration enum="net.sourceforge.stripes.examples.bugzooky.biz.Priority" /> For some code samples it may not help, but it often does.
