Can I still use smart card hotdesking when running in Kiosk mode?

We actually are going to use rDesktop, I'm just trying to figure out how to make it one seamless login and logoff to and from Windows to meet with their current environment which is PCs. I think I may have figured out a solution but I'm not sure yet...any further suggestions are always welcome.

Is there a way to avoid the login screen by using smartcards? For example, the user just has to insert their smartcard to login to Solaris, maybe their username is checked against the token id, maybe not but can it be done in either way? I realize this makes things less secure but is the option there at least? This would be nice because it would cut down on the number of logins required when using sunrays with a Windows backend.

Why not run them in kiosk mode, and have them just connect up to sessions using rdesktop or somthing like that?

Well, I did it that way but there is an issue: If you want to use usb sticks or other usb devices while running in kiosk mode, the devices are not owned by the user who logged into windows. I have been thinking about a solution but didn't find one...

There is one.
