I actually tried this, the Sunray connects, but the firmware isn't
updated - but should a dtfwload -L force the upgrade when on the
local subnet?

You will need to put the SunRay unit on the same IP-subnet as your
sunray
servers. The 1.x firmware does not know how to talk across routers.
I have a special vlan I use for this purpose in my office.
