You might try enabling core file collection for the X servers.  On Solaris
the X server (Xsun) is a setgid executable so by default it won't leave a
core if it crashes, but you can use 'coreadm' to override that and have the
core saved in a specific location.  However, if the X server was crashing
then I'd expect to see some sort of indication in the log files so maybe
that's not what's happening.

I presume you've checked the obvious things, like the system not
exhausting its swap space?  Desktop software seem to be on a
never-ending quest to consume more and more memory, so if you set
this machine up a while ago the user desktops might now be using a lot
more memory than they used to.
