Sorry for dropping the thread on this, but I'm still having an issue that is
getting my users a bit flustered...

I did find entries in my logs that point to a crashing X server, but I have no
idea where to go from here. I'm getting a bus error on one server, and
segmentation violations on another. Both are V440's and should be identical in
every way. There are 2 - 6 users on each server, and I haven't seen any memory
or performance issues at all. I could enable core file collection, but these
guys rarely log out (except when crashed), and I'd like to see if I can head
that off at the pass.

One thing that is interesting is that I seem to be seeing this on only 2 out of
6 identical servers in a FOG. My short term thoughts were to disable the 2
problematic servers and rebuild them, but that seems like an extreme measure
for this.

Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

You might try enabling core file collection for the X servers. On Solaris
the X server (Xsun) is a setgid executable so by default it won't leave a
core if it crashes, but you can use 'coreadm' to override that and have the
core saved in a specific location. However, if the X server was crashing
then I'd expect to see some sort of indication in the log files so maybe
that's not what's happening.

I presume you've checked the obvious things, like the system not
exhausting its swap space? Desktop software seem to be on a
never-ending quest to consume more and more memory, so if you set
this machine up a while ago the user desktops might now be using a lot
more memory than they used to.
