Hi all,
I am referring to my other post with the same subject. When I try to
connect to a windows 2003 server (5 device cal license installed) >> with
uttsc -l de-DE -g 1024x768 10.0.0.201
I get
The Terminal Services license could not be upgraded.
I see this issue generally when temporarily license is expired.
My idea was that temporary licenses are only issued a few weeks after
setting up the windows server. My assumption was that no RDP
connections wouldn't be possible anymore at all if we hadn't installed
the 5er CAL package. Is this assumption wrong?
However, I can successfully connect to the same windows server via
Sun Secure Global Desktop.
That may be getting new temporary license because that's a new device?
How does windows distinguish devices? All RDP connection are coming
from the same machine (Solaris box with SRS and SGD installed). It
appears that RDP connections still work from some Sun Rays but not from
others. Is another Sun Ray another device for the windows 2003 server?
How can it know that?
I thought both SRS and SGD use RDP!? Why does the sun ray windows
connector connection fails. Any idea?
Open Winodws Teminal Licensing manager and see what's happening there.
You may get some clues.
I have already done that but do not get a clue. It tells me
Product Total Available Issued
Temporary Licenses - - 9
TS Per Device CAL 5 0 5
It seems I have a lack of understanding here and actually no idea
whether the attempt to connect from a given Sun Ray will succeed or not
and if it does not why. Hints are greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Andreas
