How does windows distinguish devices? All RDP connection are coming
from the same machine (Solaris box with SRS and SGD installed). It
appears that RDP connections still work from some Sun Rays but not
from others.
Right. If the Sun Rays are first time connecting to the windows 2003
server, they
will get 60 days grace period to work with out actual license CAL. If
temporary license (60 days)
expired then it cease to function.
Is another Sun Ray another device for the windows 2003 server?
Yes.
How can it know that?
I don't know the internal details but I believe that is part of the RDP
protocol ;-).
I thought both SRS and SGD use RDP!? Why does the sun ray windows
connector connection fails. Any idea?
Open Winodws Teminal Licensing manager and see what's happening there.
You may get some clues.
I have already done that but do not get a clue. It tells me
Product Total Available Issued
Temporary Licenses - - 9
TS Per Device CAL 5 0 5
It seems I have a lack of understanding here and actually no idea
whether the attempt to connect from a given Sun Ray will succeed or
not and if it does not why. Hints are greatly appreciated!
