Discribe 4.5 will make bootable disks - later versions the option is
not there. The best way is to create a 700MB partition on a hard drive
and copy all the OS system disk into it - then put a blank 700MB cd in
your cd writer and take the option in Discribe to make a Macintosh HD -
this will bring up a dialogue asking if you wish to make it bootable. To
complete the disk you will need to insert an original system disk so
Discribe can acquire the resources which enable bootability - Discribe
will eject the blank disk for you to put a system disk in to get them -
then eject the system disk so you can restore the blank disk.
Then you burn it - it's not always successful in terms of installing
a system completely but it's nearly always a bootable. The last one I
made of 9.2.1 would install everything but Internet Explorer and Netscape
- quite an improvement I suppose....

PS You can also install a smaller boot system on the partition -
bless the system folder etc - and then boot from it and install your
utilities like TechTool,DiskWarrior etc ( so that the preferences will be
on the cd or it won't launch) and then burn a very handy bootable
diagnostic cd for a rainy day.....
