First, be sure the distro is a port to the PPC platform, not i386. If not, you may need to re-compile it from source. For motherboards of the S900 vintage or earlier, a minimal Mac OS boot volume needs to be set up and a control panel called "BootX" handles the OF, NVRAM, and PRAM programming for you via a GUI. There are just too many opportunities for mayhem not to take advantage of this method of getting into Linux, or any Unix-based kernel, for that matter. Since you already plan on being dual boot, that seems to be be the simplest way to accomplish this. I have found the Yellow Dog distro to be the most committed to the PPC platform, especially for the Mac Clones, yet as in all things, YMMV. HTH, paul -- Paul F.
