Hi Jack, I also have an S900 and a Fuji FinePix camera. I don't have experience with your problem, but I googled "recover corrupted images from a digital camera disk" and hit these links:
Image Rescue 2.0 at http://www.lexarmedia.com/dynamic-frameset_support.html?http://www.lexarmedia.com/digitalacc/rescue.html One of the product descriptions is "Image Recovery Recovers lost or deleted image files (JPEG, TIFF and RAW), from your media cards or JumpDrives, even if they have become corrupted." It appears this program sells for $20 to $30. Another company, FlashFixers has a free trial version of their software, although it is more expensive in the long run ($40) http://www.flashfixers.com/software/ (Seems to be the same sw as http://www.imagerecall.com) I haven't used either since I haven't even thought about corrupted files on a camera card. But it is good to know about...I learned something trying to help you! As an aside, all my digital photos look good on the screen but always print washed out/milky (over exposed) with dull colors. Since this is an automatic camera, any ideas how I can compensate without having to go into Photoshop with every image? I use Quark 5 to gang the images and print to an HP 1220 post script printer using HP ink with "Best" and HP Premium Glossy" settings. Any other files I create on the computer always print well. You can reply off-list since this isn't SuperMac specific.
