I have a ATA-66 card (Acard/Sonnet) in the s900 and used a Firewire 400 drive with no problems.
EZQuest 60 gb with cooling fan for the case. The HD is a 7200 rpm ATA-100 IBM.
Recently got a Firewire 400/800/USB2.0 case from OWC (NO cooling fan) and installed a 200-gb 7200 rpm Seagate.


Both drives are for periodic backup/storage and are not run constantly, so a cooling fan is not a must-have in my case.
