Good question. I'm hoping to get a deal on a B&W G3 or early G4 as a
result, mainly to run Linux on. On the other hand when my wife replaces
her G3 upgraded C500 I'm considering recycling that into a Linux box for
most of my home network services. Oh, the options!

Well, I don't know if that's the case. If you look at what you're
getting, it's it's pretty stripped down. And it's not something you'll
upgrade sans additional firewire connect disk space.

That's a very good question. Presumably the upgrade market for the G4
towers will be around for awhile, but you do have to wonder how much
market is left for other upgrades.

I doubt we'll see that price in the next year or so. I fully expect Apple
to hold the price and offer speed bumps, much like they did with the
iMacs.

Well, at least running OSX it's not as easy to do some of the stupid
things Windows allows them to do.

It's definately weird to think Apple finally did it. I've got friends
already thinking about building a small cluster of the Mini's. It's a new
world, that's for sure.
