It seems that I remember the contents of the file collapsed when I deleted an entire bookmark using Notepad. That is, the file became one long line of text. This was so long ago (I was still using Netscape 4.x, before there was a Mozilla Foundation), that I can't remember exactly what the problem was. I do know that whatever the problem, it did not happen with Wordpad. Perhaps, something has changed since long ago. -- David E.
