ColorfulTabs 4.8.1.6.1 works with compatibility checks disabled.
I configured it to apply a host-based coloring. Additionally I set up
this style with Stylish:
.tabbrowser-tab[selected="true"] > hbox {
font-weight:bold !important;
}
