In your copy of MS Word, go to "File >> Save as" and check whether the
"Save as type" drop-down has an option "Web page, Filtered".

If it does, then here is something you can do:
1. Save the MS Word document as a .htm file using
"Web page, Filtered" and not "Web page".
2. Open the saved .htm file in SM and copy from there.
