In this answer you have missed the reference to your observation about
toggling.

The problem was not with User-Agent in the source, but with X-mailer in
the source. The latter not being  displayed in the header plane. Now
discovered to be a bug in Mnenhy.

That a stripped information in the source can not be displayed is not
surprising.
