I have had issues with Thunderbird for months. Since I was getting no
support in resolving these issues, I thought I would try Sea Monkey for
both my browser and my email. I was happy to be able to continue using
Mozilla.
I downloaded Sea Monkey. Set up one email account and guess what? It
has the same issues as Thunderbird. There are 145 messages from the
same vendor. I am sure this is

Thunderbird support is NOT

Are they 145 copies of the same message, or 145 different messages?
I don't recall seeing anything in the Thunderbird list/forum.
So, can this be fixed? Why is Sea Monkey downloading the mess I have
with Thunderbird?
Any other email client will download the same new, unread messages from
the Comcast(?) server. It's the way things work.
Have you marked them as read and deleted them from Thunderbird and the
mail server before you setup SeaMonkey?
I specifically said not to include any prior settings.
Settings don't include emails. Those are downloaded from the server.
How is the account setup? IMAP or POP?
IMAP, unlike POP, specifically allows multiple clients simultaneously
connected to the same mailbox, and through flags stored on the server,
different clients accessing the same mailbox at the same or different
times can detect state changes made by other clients.

POP supports simple download-and-delete requirements for access to
remote mailboxes. Although most POP clients have an option to leave mail
on server after download, e-mail clients using POP generally connect,

My POP account is configured to leave the mail on the server, where it
stays as Unread, unless I use Web Mail to access the account and mark
the messages read.
Once they download to this email client, I can use another to receive
the same messages.
I use Windows 7 as my OS. SeaMonkey version 2.33.1
