I noticed that certain Web sites appear to use JavaScript in a way that
PrefBar's "Javascript (Tab)" checkbox does not really accomplish what I
expect. The most blatant is the Canadian news site
<http://www.thestarphoenix.com/> for the StarPhoenix of Saskatoon. The
top of each page there has a navigation bar that does not scroll with
the rest of the page. Since I do not ever use that navigation bar, I
find its waste of browser "real estate" quite annoying.

Yes, lately Ive noticed several sites have similar features, and agree that usually they're just a "waste of browser 'real estate'".

For that site and similar Web sites, PrefBar's global "JavaScript"
checkbox suffices. I renamed the latter "Overall JavaScript".

As I said, I didn't even have any JS options/checkboxes on my PrefBar -- but, after completely uninstalling PrefBar and all the 'attendant' files I couod identify, I reinstalled V7, and checked both JS options (the 'tab' and 'overall' ones), but nothing has changed...

It IS possible that, somewhere among the many SM Profile configuration files (perhaps even in "preferences.js"), something remained behind, and is causing this behavior, or maybe some cookies or 'super-cookies' are responsible, and the problem will go away when they expire. So far, after reinstalling PrefBar and ABP, nothing has changed (in respect of the problem I described).

Thanks for your ideas; maybe you'll come up with some others?
