Well, have a look at multiport NIC's.

I've set up my system with 2-port Intel NICs and tried out 4-port NICs too...

They work well and pfSense supports up to 32 NICs...

so there should be no problem for you to get it up and running ! :-)

Betreff: [pfSense Support] CARP NIC overhead?

Hi!

I’m spec’ing up a couple of machines to buy for running pfSense in a CARP-cluster model.  From reading the tutorial, am I right in thinking that this would require a NIC dedicated to the CARP functionality?

We need to provide a number of subnets so combined with the CARP NIC I’m trying to work out how many PCI slots (PC NICs) we need in each box!

Thanks,

Steve
