no problem !
I have in use Intel 2-port NICs, namely
those:
but it also should work with "more-port" NICs based on
Intel Chipsets (FXP-driver)
Adapters supported by the fxp(4) driver include: * Intel EtherExpress PRO/10 * Intel InBusiness 10/100 * Intel PRO/100B / EtherExpressPRO/100 B PCI Adapter * Intel PRO/100+ Management Adapter * Intel PRO/100 VE Desktop Adapter * Intel PRO/100 M Desktop Adapter * Intel PRO/100 S Desktop, Server and Dual-Port Server Adapters * Contec C-NET(PI)-100TX (PC-98) * NEC PC-9821Ra20, Rv20, Xv13, Xv20 internal 100Base-TX (PC-98) * NEC PC-9821X-B06 (PC-98) * Many on-board network interfaces on Intel motherboards read it on: http://www.pfsense.com/index.php?id=37there are also quad Port NICs from Intel but only with GBit... so I have no idea how it's supported by FreeBSD... Perhaps Scott knows how far the support for Intel GBit is built in now... ? ;-) Martin Von: Steve Harman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Gesendet: Mittwoch, 21. list again – Martin; are you able to post the model number of the Intel
multiport NICs you’re using please? Just to improve my chances of
success. Thanks
again, Steve From: Fuchs,
Martin [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Well, have a look at
multiport NIC's. I've set up my system
with 2-port Intel NICs and tried out 4-port NICs
too... They work well and
pfSense supports up to 32 NICs... so there should be no
problem for you to get it up and running ! :-) Martin Von:
Hi! I’m spec’ing up a couple of machines
to buy for running pfSense in a CARP-cluster model. From reading the
tutorial, am I right in thinking that this would require a NIC dedicated to the
CARP functionality? We need to provide a number of
subnets so combined with the CARP NIC I’m trying to work out how many PCI slots
(PC NICs) we need in each box! Thanks, Steve |
