Since it's static IP, you can't be losing your WAN connection, as could be a possibility with any of the other options. When it happens: 1) can you ping the WAN IP from your LAN? 2) can you ping the WAN gateway from your LAN? 3) can you ping the WAN gateway from the Diagnostics -> Ping page on pfSense? 4) Does DNS work on internal clients? ("ping google.com", see if it comes back with an IP or unknown host) 5) Does DNS work on pfSense? ping google.com from the ping page on pfSense That'll narrow down the problem again. One other thing to check, I doubt if this is the case unless one of the additional machines added is infected with malware, look at the state table usage on the front page of the pfSense web interface.
