I know it's unlikely, but not impossible, and if it turns
out to be true it's not necessarily a mistake.

It's unclear from the specs if the outputs are *really*
balanced or only 'impedance balanced', with one side
just being a resistor to ground. In the latter case the
designers may have opted to connect the _active_ signal
to pin XLR pin 2 on both the stereo outs and the breakout,
even if that would mean that one of them is inverted.
