Hi

I think Augustine is right in many respects.

What remains is a few enthusiasts. These
include a few radio producers

Are there any, Martin? The ones mentioned in the Discography,
BBC and the Finnish Broadcasting company haven't made or sent
any UHJ since the 1990's.

It is true that neither Mark or I had any support from the management.
Actually it was the opposite, poor Mark was told by the Beeb Big Wigs
not to use the word Ambisonics in the programme details. However, they
didn't forbid him from using the technique in production.

The present state of play is that no national
broadcasting organisation is regularly
transmitting in surround.

That is possibly true with_radio_.
TV is more and more using 5.1 audio.
At least the Austrian ORF and several German broadcasters are
transmitting also radio in surround, although you need to listen to it via
satellite.

Eero
