I installed VLC (3.0.6 Veritani) on my Linux laptop, and I converted a file from amb to ambix (using the latest libambix tools): http://ambisonia.com/download/AJH_eight-positions.caf
When played over headphones, no decoding ocurred. There's 2 modules named "Ambisonics renderer and binauralizer" (a filter and a renderer), but their use is undocumented.
