My comment is going to seem nasty but here it is:
You know anyone who has played with a nuclear hand grenade a lived to
tell about it? OR you ever seen one of those "pickup bed - VW Beetles"
trying to move a washer & dryer pair?
My point is to do certin jobs you need the "right tools" to do a job.
ftp on Windows 3.1 is not the way to go.
take a look at Andrzej Bialecki stuff on a small version of FreeBSD -
see below. It will run on your legacy Intel - MS-W3.1 hardware and WORK
too.

Subject: Win 3.1 FTP Server?
Does anyone know of a FREE (not shareware) ftp server (aka daemon) that
runs
under Windows 3.1? I want to set up something at work using a Win 3.1
machine, but haven't been able to find a free ftp server for that
platform.
(I did find one for Win95 if anyone's interested). It's not a big enough
issue to try to get approval to $pend $ome buck$ to register a shareware
one
or buy a commercial one.
So if someone knows where I can get a free one, I'd sure appreciate it!
