}- Two questions, just curious,
}- 1. what was you're first OS type: CLI or GUI
}- 2. if you've changed, why? if not, why?
My first OS was MS-DOS 2.11 -why do you think I call my website
"A Dinosaur's Garden"? <grin> And I kept up with MS-DOS through
all the improvements right up through version 6.22.
Then of course Win95 came out. A few months after it was
released I tried it...lasted for about 6 months and then I
couldn't stand it anymore - all the crashes and trouble it
caused. So I formatted the drive and went to DR-OpenDOS
version 7.02 which is what I'm using now.
Since then I think I have tried every DOS gui from Bobby to Gem
to Geos, etc, etc, and more menu's than I can list here. But
they all get deleted after 2 or 3 and I go back to the DOS
command line. I have quite an elaborate desktop set up for
Arachne that will launch all my apps, beautiful graphics, etc,
but I just use it to impress on people that DOS is just as
powerful and pretty as Windows. It works though, never fails
to impress them ;)
