I know your feeling, I too get the uncanny impression that my car is an
animate object as well as animated. Fortunately, my car loves me for
continuing life support and I have the opposite result. My car will stall
and fail to operate should someone unauthorized try to drive, it finds that
extra ounce of energy when I need it, tells me when something needs doing
(and I always attend to it quickly) and has never failed to get me to work
when I must and get me home again, even when it's so cold the transmission
freezes and has to be manually geared (it's a 3speed automatic).
I think that's another reason why I like an older car, it seems to have
more character and appreciation for the car and driver relationship. While
I realize there is no logical evidence for this belief, well, it IS within
the scope of my spiritual beliefs. I'm still learning the ways of the
computer, and those things are pretty darn smart!
