Most of the mainstreet businesses in the towns in my area could get by just fine running DOS freeware on an old 286. There is nothing they are doing which requires the use of modern powerful computers running GUIs such as Windows and their very bloated apps. When I tell the proprietors about how they could save a lot of money by using old DOS computers and freeware they just laugh at me and and tell me that they don't even want to hear it. They simply refuse to believe that what I want to tell them could possibly be true. I am certain that I could convince them if only they would just listen and hear me out.
