ahhh... thats debateable. IME what it does is have the qerrant do a little reserch
beforehand.
Actually, I found it to be the real beauty of Linux -the non existent handholding.
You want to learn it, you'll learn it and if your lucky someone may help you. If your
question shows little work, then its ignored. For me it was a growth thing forcing me
to do a little reserch first.

I think you know as well as I do that flaming is really non existent on this list and
all of us are interested in sharing what weve learned- intern learning ourselfs.

No. The fellow alleged to be shown his prompt while in IRC. Alot of people here
(including myself) assisted him. Only to find out he dosent have a root pw AND dosent
care!

The difference is... thats not what happened in this instance

ummm debateable.
Obiviously Its my problem. Had I ignored the post from the beginning, I wouldnt have
taken it semi-personally---THe fact that the guy diddnt really care- but neverthe
less took the groups & my time to post what seemed to be a ligitmate question...
which generated alot of responces... which then generated more of the original type
of question ie: how do I secure my system indicating to me the previous answers where
either overlooked or discarded.
