here is the way I did the wp8 files....(I used midnight commander to create
the links from my download directory to the working directory)
1: link gui00.gz to /local/work/gui00.gz
2: link gui01.gz to /local/work/gui01
3: repeat step 2 for gui02 thru gui06
4: tar -xf gui00.gz
5: startx
6: in xterm launch ./runme
7: respond to prompts from installation program
8: delete files and symlinks in /local/work

That's about it in a nutshell.  Btw, whether you copy the files or create
symlinks, the files that end up in the working directory has to have their
names all in lower case or the installation program will fail.  The reason,
there is a file that is created when you tar -xf gui00.gz that is deleted
when the installation program runs.  This file contains the names of all the
files that are ran without the .gz extension.
