This is to me the most valuable statement here. You don't need to know
the basics of Linux in order to use it. It should be framed and put on
the wall.

IMO Linux is more safe because all the backdoors are there, documented
for any programmer to fix. NT OTOH is full of holes that can only be
fixed by one tiny set of programmers. They're not reputed for doing a
too good job!
